Dr. Paul’s great response on the issue of secession.  Secession really is the great threat that was meant to keep the federal government from usurping power and trampling states rights.

I agree with Ron Paul, states joined the union voluntarily so they have a right to leave as well.  I think that is the way the founding fathers saw the issue.

“If any state in the Union will declare that it prefers separation . . . to a continuance in union . . . I have no hesitation in saying, let us separate.” — Thomas Jefferson in a letter to James Madison, 1816

It is not treason to exercise your rights, whether they be individual rights or states rights.
